Kentucky Environmental Decision Support System for Water Quality (DSS)

  The Environmental Decision Support System will incorporate drinking water information and tools from multiple locations. The system is designed to allow input from and discussion amongst rural water districts. The DSS may be accessed at: http://waterky.org/index.php?q=EDSS A decision support system is a specific type of computer information system designed to support a user by providing a substitute for an expert's knowledge.  Designed by a specialist in the given field a properly-designed DSS is an interactive software-based system intended to help decision makers compile useful information to solve problems and make decisions. The DSS provided by Water and Wastewater Laboratory Analysis DNA Cloning and Sequencing Operational Troubleshooting Specialized Training Mapping and Modeling Sampling and Monitoring Applications Development Proof-of-Concept and Technology Verification The CWRS is organized into three divisions - The Water Analysis, Training, Education and Research Services laboratory consortium, providing state-of-the-art water, wastewater and microbiological analytical services; the Environmental Informatics and Information Technology division, specializing in expert systems technology and environmental software applications development; and the Field Operations and Outreach division, providing in-field technology verification, mapping and monitoring services.">CWRS is meant to be a portal to information related to water quality.  This will assist decision makers with issues related to drinking water for rural water districts.
